Appraisals.

Appraisals are the Boerboels very own shows, of sorts.

You show your dog to a judge appointed by one of the official organisations, the biggest one being S.A.B.T.

You may get your dog appraised more than once, but it will always be the latest result that is the official and final one. So if your dog gets, say 80% to get an even number, and you want to show him or her again, to boost that number up a bit. You must take into consideration that his/her score may actually be lower the second time appraised. If that's the case, then that will be your dogs final result. You can not just chose the best results and stick with them. You are however, free to show your dog as many times as you want, as far as I know. See your chosen registry's website for specific and updated rules.

According to the S.A.B.T, if you want to breed your dog, it must have scored at least 75% at an appraisal and for it to be registred in the stud book, your dog must score at least 85%, with a hip score of 1/1 (South African method) or less.

Please consult your "local" S.A.B.T website to find a date for an appraisal near you. Or if you prefer, consult one of the other organisations websites for their appraisals.
